Journalism

Raksha is a former journalist who previously wrote about the travel trade for business-to-business publications, and ethical lifestyle & culture, also covering human-interest stories for the national press.

She started working as a freelance journalist at a time when stories about the credit crunch and the recession were dominating the national news agenda. Her first articles, were sourced from regional newspapers around the UK, and in London, before contributing to men’s and women’s magazines.

Raksha travelled overland hitchhiking across South Africa for various features on sustainable travel and the environment, leading up to the Football World Cup in 2010. She wrote about the London Olympics 2012 from different perspectives whilst based in East London.

Prior to going freelance, she was offered roles as a reporter for a financial newswire and at two news agencies in London, but had already decided to take the plunge and go independent.

After a four-year stint as a consumer journalist, and since 2014, she has been creating content for technology brands within retail, travel, professional services and business transformation consultancy.

In 2016, she compiled a study on organisations including professional standards and confidentiality, using a range of research methodologies.
